My Container Networking Journey Has to Chill
From Playing with Kubernetes to Embracing Cloud Networking: A Journey of Self-Development
Okay, so I’ve spent enough time playing with Kubernetes. But from my conversation with a few people in the community, picking up Kubernetes requires going deep into Linux & Docker foundations. Hence embracing the container guru persona.
I gave it a shot, and while I think I might be able to catch up, I doubt I have the time to before fully landing an associate role.
So, instead of going deeper into containers, I am focusing on the technology I find easy; AWS Networking. Then I will go multi-cloud. You know, focus on what pays the bills and gives me a great work/life balance, while I grow my skills. However, since there is a huge industry shift into Linux, I’d be building those skills recreationally so I can easily transition.
Also, I did a retake and scored a 73% out of 75% which was pretty impressive for a lot of cramming.
To be honest, the exam was so boring since I crammed so much. Also, unlike other exams I often write, this one didn’t have a detailed curriculum of the exam topics since it’s an associate-level exam. But it made me confident that I can pick this technology up in the future. The space is very exciting.
For now, I’m going for my AWS Advanced Networking exam.
